Hinckley ACT live music in Leicestershire
The Hinckley Act is an exciting live music venue providing a number of exceptional events throughout the year.
We feature a combination of some of the finest local musicians in conjunction with an impressive array of exceptional singers and instrumentalists from around the UK. The house PA system is of the highest quality and facilities for performers and the audience are comfortable and relaxing.
Two main types of event are offered, along with the occasional “special” such as Burbage Community Arts Festival concerts.
Club night
These are held on the first Wednesday of each month and provide an entertaining variety of styles and genres for audiences. There are a phenomenal number of accomplished and original local performers, who are showcased at these events. The result is a relaxing evening with musicians, singers and audience interacting, having fun and enjoying themselves.
Visitors and members are encouraged to bring their instruments such as guitars, mandolins, violins, ukuleles, banjos and harmonicas: on arrival all are invited to enter their name on a club night play list. This ensures no one is overlooked and also provides a permanent record of floor spots played.
Evening concert
Held on the second Wednesday of each month Evening Concerts bring accomplished musicians from around the UK to the Hinckley Act, many of whom are household names. A selection of talented local musicians combine with the main act to produce a “themed evening” built around the genre of the principal artist or group.
Such themes typically include elements of classical, jazz, folk, morris, flamenco, blues, appalachian / bluegrass, modern acoustic and electric styles.
The management team, lead by Keith and Pam London (pictured left), have succeeded in setting up one of the most innovative new concert facilities available on the East / West Midlands border. The venue itself is conveniently located near the M69 and A5, and serves the Warwickshire and Leicestershire areas. Hinckley Act is an excellent choice for an evenings entertainment, featuring a licensed bar (the club is a CAMRA real ale supporter) and plenty of safe on-site parking.
Membership
Annual membership for 2008 is only £5. Your membership card is a loyalty / attendance benefits card, which gives you a price reduction of £1 every time the card is presented at any event attended during the year leading to a possible saving during the year of £20. In addition, you will receive regular updates and advance notice of forthcoming events, plus preferential ticket purchasing options for sell-out events.
