Johnny Alderson aka Johnny Slide, Wandering John, Riverside John... whoever he is he certainly knows his blues!

"Riverside John"  been playing the guitar since the 1960's and was weened on music by the Yardbirds, John Mayall, early Stones and the Animals.

With his love for the brit blues scene,this made him delve deeper into their roots to find tantalising music by the likes of Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Blind Willie McTell, Blind Willie Johnson, Son House etc.

Their earthy no-frills style style of playing and of course haunting and stimulating bottleneck blues styles has shaped Johnny's music to this very day. 

He has played with members of John Mayall's band, the Climax Blues band, the Steve Gibbons band and has toured up and down this country and in Europe.

He formed a band 20 years ago called the 'Travelling Riverside Blues Band' and with his fiery playing and wireless guitar helped make the band very popular! Recently reformed, they have just headlined along with Gary Moore at the Leicester blues festival.

Johnny will have two guests on Wednesday 9th July, - Ian McWee on vocals of Diamond Bottleneck.com and Trevor the 'Travs' keyboard/vocalist, with a combination of resonator bottleneck blues and electric blues!
