Isambarde - folk with energy and enthusiasm
Saturday 27th February brought the long-awaited Isambarde - their music is a powerful blend of traditional and contemporary folk songs, taking the English tradition forward into the 21st century.
About Isambarde
Over the last few years they have played clubs and festivals all over the country, collecting songs, tunes and friends along the way.
Vin Garbut is in no doubt about the qualities of the band...
"Isambarde are a really good young band. They’re good to listen to, good to look at and it’s very obvious that they enjoy performing.”
About Isambarde
A power trio, consisting Chris Green, Jude Rees and Emily Sanders, Isambarde hail from the Coventry area, but are now reaching quite a distance in their impact. This seems to be down to a wicked combination of playing ability and song selection. The song selection is a very interesting part of the equation.
In the hands of Isambarde, songs positively burst into life. They can make a song that draws on events of 1618 sound like it was about 20 past 4 yesterday.
